Appreciation card

sometime ago, i received an appreciation card from a patient's family. the card was passed to me through the nurse at SGH. i got mixed emotions. sad for the loss of life :cry: and that my platelets did not manage to save the patient, happy for the appreciation. :)

Very touching story.

I also want to applaud all the 'unsung heroes' out there, who continue to donate blood despite not receiving any direct appreciation such as this. To quote someone who has been donating blood for many years:


The people we seek to help are of paramount interest... There is no glory from the sacrifices we make to help them, just a great sense of self-satisfaction.

I definitely second that!
