im a frequent blood donor and the red cross sent me a letter and has been calling me to let me know that id be a good platelet donor. my only concern is that about a year ago i gave a double red donation via the apheresis and for days afterwards i felt sick and very tired, id rather give whole blood from now on. from my understanding though, this shouldnt happen with platelet donation right? any input would be very appreciated.

yes platelet donation is the least taxing among all donations. it is even less taxing than whole blood donations, as hemoglobin is not lost in platelet donation and platelet get replenished within 3 days.

Platelets can be donated every 4weeks and is in high demand for dengue patients, chemotherapy, and can last for only 5 days.
