Hello, I used to be a blood donor, having donated 10 times till 2007 March.
In 2007, I paid money for sex when I went overseas, and of course, I stopped donating blood ever since then.
I have not had any other encounters since then, and would really like to start donating blood again.
In 2008, I called HSA to ask whether I can ever donate blood again, and the doctor said that I should wait for at least a year to make sure that I am way past the HIV window period.
I also did a HIV test and the result was negative, and even till today, I feel perfectly healthy.
It has been more than 2 years since the incident, and I wonder whether I can really donate blood again, since on the HSA website under the heading "Who Should Not Donate Blood", it is said that I cannot donate blood as I am at risk of developing HIV infection.
Advice, anyone? I would really like to resume my lifestyle as a blood donor :(
