Hi,

I am regular donor, Singapore PR. My girlfriend is Malaysian, who is not staying in Singapore.

From what I knew from the past, foreigner needs to stay in Singapore for at least 6 months to be eligible to donate blood here.

I am not sure what is the reason, perhaps afraid of not able to locate the donor if needed??

I wonder if I can be the guarantor for my girlfriend, that anything happens, they can also contact me. I would like to promote her to do good deeds..

Thank you very much.

Best Regards,
Sean Koh

Hi Sean,

Pls see reply from blood bank

It is not in our SOP that foreigner must stay in Singapore for at least 6 months to be eligible for blood donation. We only require that the foreigners produce official proof of identity eg passport and must have a local residential address before they can be registered to donate blood. The address is to enable us to contact donor in the event that clarification is needed.
