Let me first post what I had posted on my blog

I went for my blood donation today. There was a sheltered walkway from the MRT station to just about 20 metres from the Bloodbank@HSA building. And it started to rain heavily. Very heavily. I saw a small path to the building that was under shelter, but there was a sign with small print that said "For staff only". So that was out. And what was I supposed to do? Wait under the walkway until the rain stopped? I looked around for someone who might be heading towards the building as well, hoping to share an umbrella. A few people passed, but none were going to the building.

Then this girl was getting ready to open up her umbrella. I turned to see if she was going to the HSA building, and she offered to share her umbrella with me. How kind! It was really sweet of her to share her umbrella with a complete stranger. What's more, if she had kept her umbrella for herself, she wouldn't have got as wet as she did. For that I was really grateful and touched...

Unfortunately, during the hemoglobin test to check if her blood had enough iron, she was deemed unsuitable to donate blood. Apparently, from what I overhead, she had tried several times already, but still could not. What persistence! Despite being rejected again and again, she still made the effort to try again to donate blood! The world needs more people like her!

Would highly recommend that sheltered walkway be built all the way to the HSA building. If not for that kind soul, I would've been stranded at the walkway until the rain subsided. Another donor was complaining about this matter as well (he was even unluckier: apparently everytime he went down to HSA it would rain). :)
