Hi Ernest
Twenty four hours have passed. Guess you've gone to the Bloodbank@HSA & donated your blood today? If so, that's great. You have done a wonderful thing in giving your blood to someone who is in need of.
I remembered on my first blood donation on 11 May 1977, the sight of my blood flowing out of my body to save another person was beyond description. Since then, I have faithfully visited the Bloodbank, clocking 57 times.
Hope you'll follow my example. Best regards.
Wilson

I was the eldest in the family at 14.

Dad deserted the family.

Mom starting working to maintain us 3 kids.

She was having major problems with her periods, which she first put down to stress. She was bleeding for 2 months, didnt want to spend money on doctors and even on sanitary pads.

Finally, a male friend insisted to bring her to the doctors because she was looking so pale.

The doctors didnt realised what was wrong with her. Just told her to come another day with a blood donar so they can arrange for her to receive some blood.

She didnt even know who to ask for such help.

And until later she was in the toliet, collecting urine sample, a nurse looked in and saw her discharging gollops of blood jelly. The nurse rushed to the doctor and dragged him to the toliet to see.

The doctor then suggested that mom need surgery & blood.

We kids were frantic and didnt know what to do, or where to turn to for help.

Her male friend then brandished his blood donar card and insisted for Mom to be treated immediately.

The doctors then admit her into hospital and surgery.

If she had not been able to find a blood donar, which at that time, was still quite a taboo. And if her male friend has not stepped up with taking charge of the situation.

She would have continued her lifestyle until she really collasped and where will we children be?
