Hi!:)
May I know if a person who has been taking sleeping pills, haloperidol and euthyrox can donate blood?A friend of mine wishes to donate but was unsure of her eligibilty...

From what i understand, haloperidol is an antipsychotic drug used to treat schizophrenia, and euthyrox is a brand name for Levothyroxine which is used to treat hypothyroidism(low thyroid function).

Thanks for any help:p!

if your friend is taking these medicine every day, then i don't think she can donate. needs to be medicine free for at least 2 days.

to confirm, your friend can come to the blood bank and ask the doctor there, or send your query to http://www.hsa.gov.sg/internet/dcController?next=i_feedback

Was diagnosed with CIN3 somewhere a few years back.

Did a surgery and is relatively pre cancer free.

Had a hard time at the blood donation centre where I was rejected from donating due to CIN3 even though I was perfectly fine.

I can still see and felt the hurt when my donation was rejected.

maybe you can write to HSA through http://www.hsa.gov.sg/internet/dcController?next=i_feedback (http://www.hsa.gov.sg/internet/dcController?next=i_feedback)

to understand why you are rejected. by understanding the reason, you will feel better. maybe they will even reconsider.

Generally you have to be cancer free for 5 years before you're eligible to donate.
